LAHORE: Prime Minister Imran Khan met briefly with the Chaudhry brothers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q, as the opposition seeks to destabilise the existing administration by targeting PTI supporters.
The prime minister’s meeting with PML-top Q’s brass, who are allies of the government in Punjab and the Centre, lasted more than 30 minutes at the Chaudhry brother’s mansion in Lahore while he was on a one-day visit to the provincial capital.
During the meeting, the prime minister was accompanied by Federal Minister of Education Shafqat Mehmood, Energy Minister Hammad Azhar, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, and other PTI leaders.
The meeting included MNAs Salik Hussain and Shafay Hussain, as well as former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat and Speaker Punjab Assembly Pervaiz Elahi.
The prime minister questioned about Shujaat’s health throughout the meeting. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh praised Prime Minister Imran Khan for paying him a visit and inquiring about his health.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the political leaders discussed the present political situation in the country as well as other subjects of mutual interest.
Several Opposition figures, including PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, PPP Co-chairman Asif Zardari, and PDM president Maulana Fazlur Rehman, have met with the Chaudhry brothers in attempt to secure their support for their no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Earlier, during a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, the premier instructed him to take proactive efforts to provide maximum relief to the people of Punjab and to ensure the delivery of quality services.
According to Radio Pakistan, PM Imran Khan also ordered Buzdar to defend people’s rights, lives, and property, as well as to take strong action against encroachers, hoarders, and other miscreants in society.
During the meeting, the premier was briefed about developmental projects being carried out across the province.
